Ron Musselman is a widely respected journalist who is known for his ability to generate strong enterprise news stories, manage personnel, and build successful social media platforms. His work has earned numerous awards, including from the Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors, the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association and the Football Writers Association of America.

He is a reporter and columnist for The Tribune-Democrat, covering both sports and news. He previously was based in Pittsburgh and balanced a number of assignments. They included coverage of the Steelers for the Beaver County Times and Tribune-Democrat, The Sports Xchange and other outlets; the Stanley Cup playoffs for the Boston Globe and Newsday; the ongoing Jerry Sandusky/Penn State child sex abuse scandal and other court cases for Bloomberg News; and web coverage of major events in Pennsylvania, such as the PIAA Championships and the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, for the Pennsylvania Cable Network. He also wrote a Sunday column for Centre Daily Times.

Ron also has served as Editor-in-Chief of two emerging news websites in State College. During his tenure, readership increased steadily. He was a frequent contributor to ESPN television and radio on Penn State football and the Sandusky case, as well as numerous other national and regional television and radio outlets. He has produced videos, created content for premium websites and podcasts, has hosted online chats and built a following of more than 2,900 on Twitter@ronmusselman8.

Working at three of the largest newspapers in Pennsylvania and Ohio – the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Tribune-Review and the Toledo Blade – Ron built a reputation as a hard-working and skilled reporter who developed unique, front-page stories for readers. He has covered some of sports premier events as a writer and columnist, including the Super Bowl, the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, the Ryder Cup, college football’s national championship game, and three Big Ten Conference football programs: Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State.
